The recruiting rulebooknobody gave you.

Some students arrive on campus already knowing how recruiting works: the timeline, the coffee chats, the unwritten rules. Everyone else finds out when it's too late. Firstbound teaches you the game before the deadlines hit. A complete curriculum, plus an AI coach to practice against.

Launching August, before fall recruiting season.

Sans

Tell me about a time you led a team through something difficult.

I was project lead for a group assignment and we finished early.

Sans

That's the outcome — I want the difficulty. What went wrong along the way, and what did you actually do about it? A real interviewer won't let you skip that part either.

Recruiting is an information game. Some students inherit the answers.

Finance and consulting recruiting starts earlier than almost anyone expects. Sophomore programs deadline in the fall, junior offers are decided by summer. The students who win aren't smarter. They knew the timeline, knew who to talk to, and knew what to say, because someone in their life had already played the game. If nobody in your life has, that's the gap Firstbound closes.

Sans, your coach

Practice against someone who pushes back.

Reading about interviews doesn't make you good at them. Sans runs you through real practice, mock behaviorals, coffee chat rehearsals, technical drills, and adapts to your level on every skill. Give a thin answer and it pushes deeper, the way a real interviewer would.

Sans

You have 30 seconds — what's 17 × 24?

408.

Sans

Right. Now do it out loud and walk me through the shortcut — interviewers grade the path, not just the answer.

Who it's for

Built for first-generation and low-income college students breaking into finance and consulting, starting with the fall recruiting cycle. If you're strong on paper but nobody has ever walked you through how this actually works, this is for you.

Why this exists

What took them one semester took me five.

I got to Cornell on full financial aid with no idea what a finance club was, while classmates around me got into the best ones on their first try. I eventually traded interest rate options at a bulge bracket bank — and the whole way there, the hardest part was never the work. It was finding out the rules everyone else already knew. Firstbound is the rulebook I didn't have.

— Kody Christensen, founder. Cornell '24, former USD interest rate options trader.
